Privacy Policy

Introduction

Pegasus Group Australia Pty Ltd ("Pegasus") provides a range of services and benefits to membership-based groups, in particular, corporate social clubs and employee associations and their members.

Pegasus has adopted this Privacy Policy to ensure that it handles private information about individuals responsibly. Pegasus respects the personal information of members and their privacy when handling this information.

Pegasus abides by the National Privacy Principles for fair handling of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth). The Privacy Policy may be reviewed and amended from time to time. Last reviewed: 12 February 2004

Personal Information

Pegasus collects and uses personal information about members necessary to enable Pegasus to provide services to members. Typically this information includes a member's name and work address and any other contact information needed to maintain records in a format that identifies the member.

Collection of Information

Pegasus usually collects this information from the corporate social club or staff association with express permission from the member, or, directly from the member. Pegasus does not collect personal information via its registered web site.

Pegasus web site contains links to other sites, which are not subject to our privacy policies and practices. Pegasus recommends referral to those web sites directly to ascertain their privacy policies and practices.

Use and Disclosure

Pegasus holds personal information to enable the provision of services and benefits direct to members and the corporate social club or staff association.

Pegasus will only disclose personal information to reputable third parties (benefits providers) in ways that are reasonable and necessary for the efficient provision of services and benefits to members. Typically this information might include the member's name and membership number. Benefits Providers include organisations such as On-Line Entertainment (dining and accommodation) and the Australian Film Institute (movies).

Pegasus will not sell nor otherwise disclose personal information, unless disclosure is required or authorised by Law. "Law" includes Commonwealth, State and Territory legislation as well as the common law.

Data Quality, Access and Correction

Pegasus is committed to maintaining accurate, complete and up-to-date information about its members. Pegasus respects the rights of its members to access their personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles in The Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth).

Data Security

Pegasus takes reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Information is stored in a secure office location in a customised database designed and owned by the Pegasus. Access to information is limited to authorised Pegasus employees.

Unique Identifiers

Pegasus assigns members a unique membership number for the purpose of maintaining up to date and accurate personal information and for providing services to members. Pegasus does not collect nor require the use of Commonwealth Government or agency identification numbers (for example, Medicare).

Anonymity

Pegasus respects that anonymity is an important element of privacy. For practical business purposes, a member booking, receiving and paying for services would need to identify themself. Typically the information could include a member's surname and/or membership number.

Transborder Data Flows

Pegasus maintains its database in Australia and does not transfer personal information overseas.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information includes information relating to a person's racial, ethnic, religious or sexual origin, membership of political bodies, health and criminal record. Pegasus does not require nor collect sensitive information from members.
